Inspiration from Barbie

I never thought Barbie would inspire deep, profound thoughts in me, but she has! The girls really like the Barbie movies, and I've got to say I'm a fan as well. The music is beautiful, the songs are catchy and fun, the stories are fabulous for little girls. We have the 12 Dancing Princesses, Princess and the Pauper, Island Princess, Swan Lake, Rapunzel and now Diamond Castle. They are wonderful movies (if you are a little girls...)

Anyway, we bought the Diamond Castle movie the other day and one of the songs on there reminded me a little bit about our marriage class. It's called "Two Voices, One Song" It was talking about two friends working together, but it could potentially be about marriage as well. When you're singing a duet, both of you have different parts. Sometimes you sing in unison, both sing the same notes. Other times you sing in harmony. Sometimes one person has the melody and sometimes it switches to the other person. One person may sing higher than another one for a while and the other person may sing lower. But as long as you are singing the same song, it will sound beautiful. And it's the differences in what the two people are singing that make a song wonderful. It wouldn't be the same if both people sang the same notes.

Anyway, it was a fun thought for me. Who would have thought Barbie would be such an inspiration.

That is such a nice thought! It's so true, too!

Random thought: If Barbie was an actual woman she wouldn't have even been able to stand on her own until the 1980's, too misproportioned.
