Campout at the Property
James, the girls and I packed up our stuff and headed out Friday after work to spend the night at the cabin. We stopped at the Strawberry visitor's center and saw the spawning salmon. It was awesome...I've never seen it before!

It was quite warm in the cabin as well. We were prepared for freezing temperatures, but it was warmer than the last few campouts we've done. Yay for that! :)
This morning we got up about eight and made breakfast. (hashbrowns and ham and eggs...!) and cleaned up our stuff from the cabin. We headed to Tabiona and up a canyon past there to see the heart on the mountain. The colors were SO pretty up there. The road was not! My van isn't the highest-clearance vehicle out there, and when it was weighed down with all of us and all our stuff, we were scraping on pebbles! It was beautiful, though. We stopped at a place called Splash Dam and had lunch. Then we turned around, headed back down the canyon and towards home.
All in all it was a fantastic overnighter! The cabin couldn't have been better. We loved having the potty inside! :) The stove worked great. It kept us warm and dry. Fabulous!

I'm glad you got a chance to get away and try out the cabin. Dad and I bought 3 big trees to plant on the property yesterday (cottonwoods that will get to be 65' tall) Maybe we can have a tree planting day some time soon.
